The EISA is a national exam that is meant to ensure a uniform standard for the qualification. The exam is set and administered by SAIS.
Candidates can only register for this exam if they have successfully completed the knowledge, practical skills and workplace components of the Occupational Certificate: Financial Markets Practitioner or if they comply with the recognition of prior learning requirements set out below.
The exam is set in such a way that candidates are required to integrate knowledge, practical skills and work experience i.e. the emphasis is on the application of what they have learned. The exam is strictly controlled by the QCTO and has to comply with all their regulations.
Paper 1: Investment Advice and Portfolio Management - Exam will take place in March 2019. Exact date TBC.
Paper 2: Trading and Settlement - Exam will take place in March 2019. Exact date TBC.
Learners are required to provide the following documents for access to EISA:
Learners who have registered and who comply with all the admission requirements will receive a letter of confirmation from SAIS. This letter and Identity Document must be presented at the exam venue on both exam days. The letter will provide all the required information on the exams including the rules applicable.
All learners who wish to enrol for the EISA must apply on the official EISA registration application and submit all supporting documents and proof of payment to

Candidates who have been working in the financial markets and who have passed some or all of the JSE exams and who wish to obtain the Occupational Certificate: Financial Markets Practitioner may apply to write the EISA, provided that they comply with the RPL requirements set by SAIS.
Candidates who wish to enter via the RPL route have to fill in the EISA registration form and submit it, together with the required documentation and proof of payment of the EISA registration fee before the registration closing date to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that all applications will be considered by the SAIS Education Committee. The Education Committee has the right to call any candidate for an interview to assess the candidate’s knowledge and/or evaluate the candidate’s work experience. The committee may require the candidate to undergo specific theoretical, practical or work-based training before allowing him/her to enter the EISA.
